Took the 204's out last week for some relaxing ground squirrel shooting. Only made it out a few times this summer. Managed to get some frame by frame action shots. Enjoy Last G-squirrel pics for the year.**graphic** - Predatorhuntcanada.ca Here's a bunch from the previous years. Many Raptors were fed during these sessions.LOL Latest P-doggin pics *Warning: GRAPHIC* - Predatorhuntcanada.ca As promised, some prarie poodle action shots *Warning Graphic* - Predatorhuntcanada.ca
That is some amazing photography! Nice shooting. What was your longest shot? Some day I am going to look at the prospects of a .204 of some type. I may venture into the 20 practical. What grain bullet, powder, primer and velocities are you getting? Tank
Sorry for the late reply. Been away on holidays. My longest shot on a g-squirrel with the 204 is 490 yds. Farthest shot captured with the camera is just over 200 yds. I used the 26 gr varmint grenades, the 32 gr V-max and 32 gr Nosler BT's, and the 39 gr sierra BT's. Favorite powder is RL-10X, 24.8 gr for the 39 gr BT's and 25.8 gr with the 32 gr V-max & nosler BT's For the 26 gr VG's, I use 26.3 gr RL-10X but have experienced some flattened primers with this load. I don't care much for the varmint grenades as they have a lousy B.C. and run out of steam within about 250 yds. I kind of compare it like trying to throw a styrofoam cup compared to a baseball.
Always good to see how others "manage" ground squirrels. I have20 videos on Youtube. To view, go yo STEVEASKE. Enjoy.
thanks. I've been rehabing a reconstructed elbow the past 7 weeks. should be back in the field next weekend to do another video.
