Hear about 3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9 grooves in a barrel what determines how many you need?

Also does one give better accuracy over the other? And finally in way way do the number of grooves effect the twist rate?

Hopefully this will help someone else out that may have been wondering the same thing.

It means nothing. The number of grooves is mostly set by the way in which they are put in. Some are swaged, some are cut, others are forged.

The Twist rate has nothing to do with the # of grooves/Lands. It is a number of inches that the bullet travels to turn 1 time. Ie, A 1:11 twist is a full rotation in 11"
