I ordered my springer (HW98) and it's being modified by someone more experienced than I (which is just about anyone) to make it quieter, faster, able to leap tall buildings with...sorry, got carried away.

I need to get a scope that can stand up to the vibes from my gun, although, it should be way more smooth after it's been modified.

    1) It needs to be able to magnify rabbits up to 50yds, so my "older" eyes get some help.
    2) I'd like it to be low light capable, as the critters are most active at pre-dawn, and dusk.
    3) Not sure if I need an illuminated reticle, but am open to opinions.

    I am open to suggestions!

hawke Air rifle scope. Call Steve Collara at 504-271-2538 for any info on the scope. He can give you an idea of what you would need. His prices aren't too bad either.

How functional is their illuminated reticle? I've seen some reviews saying it's a waste of money. Not just in regards to Hawke, but that feature in general.

Let me preface this by saying I am a S&B/TT/Premier guy myself.

I just bought a cheap Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18×44 for a 6.5CM I am giving to my daughter. For $700 into a rifle, base, rings and scope, I am fairly impressed. I have rounds loaded up to shoot next weekend to start developing a load.

Time will tell if it holds up, but the glass is pretty good for the price. Clarity is decent, color is good, edge to edge is OK, no CA, but haven't shot it yet.
Reticle is MOA EBR-4 w. 2 MOA subtensions, and illuminated. Illumination is really bright, like full sun midday bright. 11 settings. Pretty good for $379.
Turrets are able to turn. About all can say on them. Mushy, but you can feel the clicks.
    30mm tube and 25.5oz.
"Best warranty around", which is comforting. Hope I never use it.
