Good barrel vice for stubborn barrels?

Can anyone recommend a barrel vice for barrels that are stubborn to get off. I have a homemade one that usually works, but the last 700 I took that barrel off of required a pipe wrench. Barrel was roughed up prior to the pipe wrench so it didn't bother me but I may be taking off a barrel that's a keeper pretty soon.
