Glueing rubber ring back on my IOR

My IOR 2.5x10x42 MM scope's rear rubber ring has come off. What kind of glue to use to glue it back on ? Super glue ?

I have the same problem with two of mine. I just recently lost the second one. So I am thinking of using a little clear or black silocon. Use it sparingly with plenty of dry time. I feel it will do the trick and if I get a bit sloppy it can be cleaned up where super glue will eat in and leave a lasting effect.
