A guy from another site uses blue dot with 220 hard cast for brown bear defense. I know he has killed at least 1 bear with it. I think his load is 9.3 gr but I'm not certain

Yes BD is good powder ! 9.3 to 9.5 is a good load with 220gr. But I picked up some Longshot to load eventually and then it's on to No 9 powder.

I stuff mine plumb full with a nuke load of corn flakes (AKA 800x), but long shot or #9 is surly good 10mm powder.

Rumor has it, at one time underwood 10mm hardcast was loaded with 800x 🤷‍♂️

Ordered 200 of the straight shooter 220 pc hard cast for my G20. Found data on VV site. I'll start testing with 3N37 and 3N38. I carry it while working around the place for black bear here in the mountains of NC. Might try some N-105 too even though it was discontinued. I have some stashed here

All those loads are 40 SW levels no thank you !

Running my G20 with 4.6" KKM barrel and a 220 gr bullet in my starline cases in Quickload here is what I come up with. Once I get my bullets and get some measurements, I can get better predictions from QL.
Blue Dot, 11.3 gr, 34,353 psi, 105.5% case fill (compressed), 1133fps
Longshot, 9.2 gr, 37,212 psi, 69.6% case fill, 1116 fps
Accurate #9, 13 gr, 37,539 psi (over pressure), 93.2% case fill, 1165 fps
VV 3N38, 11.1 gr, 37,497 psi (max), 103.5% case fill, 1159 fps
Ramshot Enforcer/A-4100, 14.3 gr max, 36,895 psi, 106.5% case fill, 1189 fps
I am not recommending any of the above loads. They are for reference only

Accuracy? only testing will prove it out.

BTW, those VV loads in post 6 are 40 SW speed for a 165-180 gr bullet

Are you sure on these load levels they look more like 180gr loads !

When I get my bullets and can get some measurements from them I can update this data more accurately. Unless you want to give me an accurate length and weight of your bullets. Based on the speed Underwood is claiming these loads are in that area and 37,500 psi area

Clocked Underwood in G20 at actual at 1134fps 220gr in 4.6"
220gr Hard cast Coated is actually 216gr no GC
1.240"
I beleve Underwood got the test data from G40 at 1200 fps

Is 1.240 the COL or the bullet length? I need both numbers
It looks like power pistol would be your best option so far in QL. Wouldn't surprise me if Underwood is using this powder
9.3 gr, 36933 psi, 1185 fps, 89% case fill
VV loads may be lighter because CIP uses a Pmax of 35,*** psi as opposed to SAAMI 37,*** psi

I think Underwood uses Longshot under this coated Hardcast bullet
