Hadn't used this GPS in a while and took it to CO recently and noticed date was way off and wasn't self correcting to satellites. Tried everything to change date and it would not change no matter what I tried. When I turned it on to just make sure it was grabbing satellites, I never went to page that showed date so this was surprise for sure.
It is a good GPS with maps so I went "hunting" for solution. Couldn't have been easier than anyone could imagine. It appears there needed to be a "chipset" update from Garmin and they have a software "webupdater" to do exactly what you need. So if you have a date problem on your Garmin try downloading this tool which will recognize your GPS and update chipset as needed.
