bought this a couple of months ago and finally got around to shooting it with several different loads. It is a good shooter but i'm going to stick with the Contenders so this will go. There is also another factory stock in black that goes with it along with a 2pc scope base with rings.$500 shipped to your FFL. If you want the Bushnell Trophy scope and 1 pc scope base & rings that'll be another $100. Trades i'd be interested in are Contender rifle barrels in 223,30-30AI or other custom calibers. Contender pistol barrels in the smaller JDJ calibers, 226,6mm,257,6,5. Quality rifle scope in the 4-16 power range, rangfinder???

Dave, am looking for one of these to rebarrel to 25 or 26 cal for hunting.

Is the 243 good in such a short barrel foe deer?

I may be interested in taking this off your hands.

I started both of my boys off with a 243 for deer. I've never shot anything but paper a couple of times with this but if I was going to use it instead of the 309JDJ i'd use either the Hornady 95gr. SST'S or the Nosler 95gr. BT's. Thanks for the interest, Dave

I've been asked on how it shoots, bullet, group size etc... I took it with as I needed to resight the 309 JDJ in at 75 yds. I'm using a Caldwell rest made in plastic, not the best but all I have. Striker shooting 95gr BT's over 41.5gr. IMR 4350 at 75yds. This is the ammo for my sons deer rifle. Scope set at 6x.
