Fresh Buck Rubs

I have 8-10 fresh buck rubs on our property in last week. Crazy and from decent buck since sapling was broke in half! Timing is prob a doe in estrus in 3rd rut period. Anyone else seeing a rash of new rubs? Yea, still have bucks on camera with racks. Kind of cool!

I live in Alabama, Most of the state is just starting with the rut. But if you're getting some of last years does coming in heat late might explain it.

This is GA and not seeing "Rubs", but active "Scrapes". You will get Does coming into a second Heat if not bred the first Rut. Should also see "Scrapes". I see scrapes year-round on our property where the Does and Bucks are letting each other know they are still round.

Was up in the hills this past Sunday and saw about a 165 class 4x4 hawkin 3 does!!!

I'm in central Pa . I've noticed a bunch of fresh rubs about two weeks ago . I still have eight cameras out . last week when I pulled my chips I only had one deer with an antler . I did get a close up of a deer that his sockets are about healed over . a couple of guys have told me they have found sheds .

Bucks are still tending to the young does here in west central Pennsylvania.
I think there was so many twins and triplets born last spring that the bucks just couldn't breed all the young does the first go round.
Definitely hard on the bucks when the rut lasts for close to 3 months!

I found a fresh one yesterday . it would have happened between Sunday and Tuesday . really tore it up .



I cut a road through the lease the third week of December . new rubs were showing up as I worked on the project .

Maybe they have become so accustomed to humans that they are staying horny all year like us. We aren't the only ones that study the behavior of another species.

I have a group of Muley's that hang out around my place every winter. They come in to eat the goat and chicken grain we put out for our animals as well as the hay we put out for the mule. They rub my trees all winter long. I love seeing them so I guess its just the price you pay.
