All,

I currently have the cabelas trans Alaskan but they are nearing the end of their life so I'm looking for some new tree stand boots. The cabelas trans Alaskan has been one of the best boots I've owned for warmth but absolutely are junk for walking as they have bad traction, heavy and clumsy, and zero ankle support. For treestand hunting this is not to much of a problem as I'm not hiking far to get to the stands but it still stinks. I have just seen these new irish setter icetrek boa boots which seem amazing. Extra too room, easy lace system, ultra light but still 1600 grams of insulation. So do I give these a shot and risk being not as warm but walking will likely be much better or do I go for what I already have and deal with the walking issues? Thanks!
