Flush mount sling carry pics and slings used too.

Anyone care to share how you utilize the flush mounts I see on some custom rigs? I always have my rifle in my hand for safety and quick action. The only time I sling my rifle is to cross a river we have a wire system rigged over and when it is time to drag. Thanks guys.

I have flushcups on the opposite side of the bolt and use a single claw sling with qd mounts. I'll get pics when I get home tonight, but its convenient to carry, especially when slung across your back, it hangs out nice. I also have a backpack sling that I hardly ever use, as it doesn't work when you have an actual backpack. It's great for those 14+ lb rifles thougg when you don't need to have a backpack.

Tagging in as I'm also interested in these. I hate the kuiu rifle sling on my bag as it's too tight around the recoil pad and makes for difficulty in quick removal

I have flush cups, but mounted on the bottom where sling post would be.

When I owned a 6.5 CM Ruger American Predator I put flush cups in my Boyd's Classic laminated stock. I used the type that permits only partial swiveling cups. Great for shooting off a bag B/C it does not catch on the bag.

BUT ya gotta make sure the cups are installed so the swivel stops are where you want them before the epoxy dries.
Of course you could buy 360 deg. swivel cups. I just didn't want my sling to be able to twist up.

I have off side flush cups, and a SAP sling to carry muzzle down, Operator style. One small thing, the sling has never been used, so no pics, sorry.

One word of warning for flush cups. Don't paint them! I had a rifle fall off my shoulder this fall because of the paint not allowing my qd sling swivel to seat fully into the flush cup. It was not a good day!

It fell and the muzzle hit the ground like a hinge was attached to the lower swivel. I was still holding the sling up at my shoulder. When the muzzle hit the ground the stock just split. It's a grayboe stock. I guess injection moulded fiberglass is not the way to go. Greyboe sent me a new stock but I don't really trust them now.
