Took a friend and went up to my #1 hide this afternoon.

At least a week too early. Snow still knee deep in the shadows.

Walked up on a very suprised young bull. Antlers would have measured about 3 or four. Just budding.

Sneaked up on a cow at about 931 yards.

Twas fun.

The good part is the 20 min drive and 2/4 mile walk up a dozer road....

I have till the 30th to apply for the 5 bull permits in the area?????

If the terrain would have been ironed flat, she'd of be a couple of miles which is a bat walk. I could have maybe shortened the distance by maybe 100 yds by walking down my side. But from where I was the shot would have been only about 3 degrees down.

However, the wind variations would have prevented a shot of any sort.

Besides she was pretty rough lookin'. She was eating that bitter brush like it was the last meal on earth.
