First day with 155 Absolute Hammers 280ai

So far my powder of choice is too slow. VVn565 is my go to with 175 Bergers sending them just about 3000fps from a 26 inch barrel. These bullets seem to be very accurate since my pressure test group of ten rounds went into a 1 inch group. The group of 10 was about 2.5 grains difference from start to finish. I ended up filling to a compressed load at about 64 grains of powder. Ended at 3060fps.

Next trip to the range will be with H4831SC.

H4831sc was slow as well. Almost identical to the VVn565. Started at about 60 and Worked up to Over 63 grains of powder. Hit 3091 with the highest load.

These bullets were very hard to seat and very inconsistent. I was told they would scream at 200+FPS more than other bullets of there class. So far only 100fps faster than what I run the 175 Berger at isn't what I was thinking.

try n-555 if you have it or rl-16 or hybrid 100v I think anything in the 4350 range would be about right keep us posted

Maybe ask Steve at Hammer what powder to try, he may have a suggestion.

I think your spot on here with your powder calls, gonna need to load it like a 140-150 grain bullet

I will give it a try tonight. These are new bullets, they said that they are 200-300fps faster than traditional bullets of the same weight. So we will see,

WE are in the same shape up here, we have had a half inch since June

Lower friction projectiles like a little quicker kick. We see this a lot with Moly bullets
