I hunt California chamise, manzanita, buckbrush and heavy timber with a 20" 308 win. Very rarely are shots over 400 yds. For oak brush, sage mix and quakie patches I like a 22" 270 and for open plains of Wyoming or rolling sage hills of Colorado I take the 26" rifles in 25-06, 280 AI or 300 win mag depending on the animals I'm after. I'm not a one gun guy by any means. So the average has me in the 23" slot.

I only shoot suppressed so most of my rifles are barreled with that in mind.
20" 22 creedmoor
22" 6.5 prc
22" 300 wsm
Are my main rifles to take to the field. I have rifles with 26"-30" barrels also but after putting cans on them they are just more of a pain to carry and maneuver while hunting.
