I am working on some loads with RE26 in my new 6.5CM. I would like to have an alternative powder worked up should I mistakenly run out of RE26 and can't find some for some reason. I would prefer to use something that is less market stressed than H4350 so I did not include it in my poll.

My gun:
Howa 1500 SA
25" Mark Chanlynn barrel 1x8
Nosler 140 RDF
2.885 COAL (2.2555 BTO)

With RE26 I can get 2800 easily, easy is according to QL, and that is my target velocity. A compressed load of RE26 actually put me over 3000 but I don't need this gun to be that hot. That is what my 6.5 SS is for.

Looking at QL the following listed seem to be able to give me the velocity I want and remain "safe".
RE16, RE17, RE26, Accurate 4350, Hogdon H414, Ramshot Hunter

Looks like my poll is not working. I will update once I figure that out.

H4831SC has worked well for me.

I'm working with RL 26 right now 2861 with my load currently, accuracy has been Okay .4 & .5's, waiting on some heat to shoot in to see how groups and velocity holds up under the change.

RL26 and RL16
Have not used RL16 but it would be my choice for a Temperature stable powder to replace H4350
I find RL26 to suit my needs for most anything I load in my 6.5 CM.

So still have not heard back from admins regarding my poll, oh well. I picked up some Ramshot Hunter to try out. QL seems to think that would be a good powder and probably a little lower demand than some of the others. RS Hunter, RL16 and Accurate 4350 all are listed as 2800+ with a 100% fill (RL26 is 2900+), based on my ADG cases. Of course I also picked up a keg of RL26 so I should be good for a bit but still want an alternate because things happen.

42.2 IMR 4451 @ 2.203 TOG gives me 2730 fps out of a 26" Mcgowen on a Savage Axis. Good to 1760 yards so far. :) Start low & work up. All guns are not the same.
