I run the 215 Berger from my 308 and will likely never use another bullet, would I shoot an elk at long range with it, you bet!

Here's my question... Generally what two metrics are acceptable for a Big Bull?

Foot Pounds of Energy
I know this isn't a "hunting" bullet, but it appears to have the specs to be effective at 500 yards. Zero'd at 200 yrds, it is a 4 foot 'hold over' at 500 yards, from the middle of the lungs.
What do you think?
