Saw some older posts mentioning this but can anyone confirm. Seller can't find any numbers on it and when I type in the model it instantly comes up on wish and alibaba. It looks very fake-ish to me. Just says Carl zeiss 4-16x50 aomc on it and I've only dealt with newer model zeiss.

I knew I should of went to the dlab when I was in the Marines for Russian classes lol here's some photos of the add. I'm always waiting on zeiss to email/ message me back to see if I can email them some photos for them to confirm as well.

Do not buy it, it's a fake. I ran into the same issue a few months back. The picture of the scopes looks just like the "2" I had issues with. I called Zeiss customer service and the gentleman told me that Zeiss never made a scope with the AOMC reticle. He even told me what the serial number was on my scope. Said the company producing the scopes used the same serial number on all the scopes. Ask the seller for the serial number if the last 4 numbers are 1906. It's a fake for sure. I wasted a lot of bullets, powder and time before I figured it out.

Yep that's it, they told me the same cause I emailed them and messaged them on fb and hadn't heard a reply so I called them and the lady said it was a fake. She also said the biggest sign to tell it other than serial was that the scope had a red and green reticle and apparently zeiss only used a red reticle. Needless to say I did not buy it, thanks for the help guys.

Dang, sorry I mislead. Not intended for sure. Your experience definitely saved some headache for sure.
No worries, only reason I was skeptical was I was supposed to trade a vortex viper for a Glock 44 and the waited to long. Hit the guy up a few days later after I forgot to reply and told me someone had slipped him a fake zeiss for his gun.
I would think quite a while, especially a lighter recoiling gun such as that. Glass quality will probably be crap though so I wouldn't use it for a mountain rifle but should work fine enough for tree stand or similar

So I ended up with one of these years ago actually picked it up on eBay and when I got it I seen her as like a little teardrop on a dust inside it contacted Zeiss and sent it to him they sent it back to me told me it was a fake I got on with eBay and prove that it was a fake I had to send it back to the original seller it got sent back to me and I got my money back through eBay on it I had issues that on a 243. You may get it to work good on something I put it on a gun and try it but I wouldn't go through more than 10 rounds to 20 rounds. I would quit if it's not holding zero for you
I love them. I bought 4 from Red Hawk when they were discontinued and two in Houston. Best glass for the money. I have some with hunting turrets and some with Target.
They ALL have serial numbers
Not sure if they made 4-16.
