Sorry if I am getting of the Post for Sale of your AR-15
Someone will like it have this one and the accessories!
Dang I almost bought a Colt AR in Jacksonville, NC outside of my Marine Base Camp Lejeune. I was in the 2nd Marine Div, Force Troops, Recon. Back then it was a few hundred dollars.
YES the PRICE is WORTH MORE NOW!!
One of my Sgt from the Armory told me to buy one and he would give me all the extra parts to turn into a Auto. This was before the ban by Regan on Auto weapons.
I had a hard time touching a "Black Rifle" When I came home. This brings back memories.
I noticed in your picture that this Colt Lower is Stamped .223 cal and the magazines are 5.56. I never had one Rifle (AR) in that cartridge -.223 in the USMC or Military. All the ARs I had were 5.56. Maybe I am missing something I was in the Corps 50 years ago. What year was this made?
Well in the USMC we never got the "Good Stuff" we always got the leftovers from the Army. Heck the "C" Rats that we ate (in a carboard box) were dated in the 1940s and we had in Viet Nam no MREs for us.
I just checked some Mags I brought back and they are stamped "Adventure Line" (still have about 1/2 dozen).
At first we were issued 20 round mags and then the 30 round. I had probably 25-30 with me when I got out. (I always carried at least 10 mags and 2 bandoliers (120 each) (540 total) when in the field.
Got a ton of adapters for the stripper clips. (10 --.5.56 in a strip)
When Clinton but a ban on mags I sold about 15 of them with the mag pouches for $70 each!!!
Nice setup with the LSA, cleaning rods, pouch.
Does the back of the stock hold the cleaning rods and LSA???
Never was issued Bayonet. I saw some of them but as Marines we were trained to shoot everything. If we ran out of ammo the "E Tool" was our next best buddy! Also had KBARS-the Marine Tool.
