Ear protection?

What kind of ear protection do you use for hunting? Plugs, muffs, ??? Do you keep them on the whole hunt or try to put them on right before shooting?

I use the banded plugs that I wear around my neck while hunting and can quickly pull them up and in place when / if I'm ready to shoot something. Have considered the electronic plugs that could actually help me hear better but have not heard any firsthand reports on how well they work.

Im in construction and I wear the cheap plastic type hoop with plugs on each end.Just rides around my neck, or I carry foam plugs in pocket.Hoops faster in timber hunting
