My kid got his 2 years ago, off range youth hunt. He used his .300wm, 180 AB's and his Oryx took 3 shots and still packed some mail. Great hunt and great meat! I've got a buddy who's a guide in NM that we stayed with near T&C. We were by WS. Really cool experience.

My first oryx on range was shot with a 270Win & accubond box ammo at 200ish yards. full pass through, broke offside shoulder, took 2 more shots in the lungs.
My moms on range oryx: 6.5 CM, w/ 140VLD @ 2750fps, 300ish yards, quartering away shot, made a pass through, the bull stumbled forward and stopped. before a follow up shot could get out, the bull started staggering and fell over.
My dads once in a lifetime: he had back surgery and settled with the 6.5CM. He picked a 143ELDX with a hot load of RL 26 @ 2,800 fps. killed his bull at 500ish quartering to, tip of shoulder, found in the fur between 2 ribs. That bull had a pretty lights out reaction.
