Sorry if the title is confusing. I was wondering if a rifle is more valuable if it is the first year a caliber is introduced? I bought a 7 RUM the first year they came out, does that help the value at all or doesn't it matter? Just curious.

All depends if it's a survivor or is a has been...something that was around for a short time and then discontinued can be worth more, but low serial numbers only to a collector and that takes awhile... I have a model 7 stainless synthetic in .300 saum, no one wanted it and I picked it up brand new for around $400.00, looking on gunbroker I see some are nearly twice that...also a 700 marked 7mm Express instead of .280 rem... Things like these odd balls can be worth more than standards and how much someone wants them also....
