I just ordered a 32x NF.....I have a tough time getting a good picture on targets past 500 yards....will this scope help...I currently have a 22x NF.

I have tried them and didn't care for the image quality at higher magnification. seemed like past about 22x things really went down hill

I have had several with magnification above 22X, mine all worked just fine. I still have and use 2 different 8-32X NXS (NP-R1).

The only complaint I have with the higher magnification versions is the limited elevation adjustment. That will be solved if/when I move to the ATACR.

I went from a NXS 22X to the 32X and back to the 22X. The 32X was nice but in most instances was not as usable due to mirage. That coupled with the reduction in MOA of elevation makes the 32X kinda a poor choice for me. More magnification but less dial up are not good together. If you are having trouble getting into the eye box on a 22X NXS the 32X will only be worse. I find the NXS one of the easiest scopes available for getting a full eye box view. I would be looing into why you are having trouble.

I am not completely sure what you mean by a "good Picture" but at 500 yards you are not even scratching the surface of the 22X NXS. We have shot these scopes over 2500 yards with great results. At 500 yards we could center up on the eye of a rabbit.

wow....at 500 yards you can center up on a rabbits eyeball??????????????

I will hang on to my 22x just incase i dont like the 32x

Here is an example, the center of this orange target is about that size and I can center on it. But never said I could hit it...:D

is that a 2" dot?

would i be happyier with the newer ATACR? I do know the reticle will be thicker then my NP-R1...which may hurt my accuracy....on the other hand...it may help since my eyes are weak

I bought a 32 NXS in the last 12 months. Its glass is way superior to my older 22 power NXS and 15 power NXS.
The glass is now German I believe.

4 of those shots went into 1 1/4" at 500 yards. I either pulled the 5th or the 3:30 mirage got me. But anyway, I didn't shoot those 4 into 1/4 moa at 500 yards by aiming at a 2" orange dot. I centered up on the orange and black diamond in the center.

Bottom line is if you are having trouble seeing small aim points at 500 yards with a 22X NXS something is wrong.

Good luck with what ever you choose.

Wow that would be great!

I actually have a cheap 32x on a 22-250 that does really well for me...and its only a $100 pc.

I'm pretty sure Nightforce has always used Japanese glass...But don't hold me to that, b/c they very well could have recently switched, without me hearing about it.

I use both 22x & 32x NXS, and I don't see an advantage in one over another except I have more power available in 32x. As far as adjustment limit, this is commonly managed with 20moa bias in rings or base.

NF glass is acceptable(nothing impressive), and is the same as Leupold's.
