Do you use a sun shade on your scope or not?

Probably been covered before but many new ones here now and I am still up in the air about using one.
Not weight but it does get in the way a bit.

We have the Leupold ARD's which work good while adding minimal length to the scope.….but, they are in the daypacks and not used full time!

The only real negative is loss of light during twilight periods. We only use them when we will be facing into a rising or setting sun for a while. Other than this situation….they merely live in the daypack!

It appears that they may be for a limited type of scope though! memtb

Nope.
I have been in a hunting scenario that I used about a 6" long piece of thin cardboard formed around the objective end to block out the sun. I have been known to keep a piece in my pack for just the occasion.

Yes, a honeycomb type similar to what @memtb noted.

Never needed one….as far as I know.

I do when I suspect the sun, rain, or snow will interfere. I also use one when shooting off a bipod/bench as my muzzle brake throws crap on my objective lens. Apparently I use a sunshade quite a bit!

I just leave it on and forget about it. Has helped me quite a few times while deer and coyote hunting.

They can be handy in a good rain but in fair weather I don't use them
