I'm new here but have been following for year's and wanted to ask a question. Yesterday I had the opportunity to take a very unusual whitetail. Some test are being done by aTm to give more information. Has anyone ever seen a whitetail deer like this?

Shot with a .243 85 gr hornady interbond. She was hit on the left side behind the shoulder she dropped. The bullet was lodged in the opposite shoulder was just over 300 yds. I'm glad there is only 1 small hole with how beautiful she is.

Semi piebald.....possibility...
I have seen same thing in blacktail and elk....
Some do change like we do....grey hairs...
The old Roosevelt of the Oregon coast used to be much larger animals and older animals used to turn more of a grey color phase....nicknamed the greyghost(much like the clues deer which is usually this color i am told)....
But when you see one of the old bloodline...they are huge in comparison to others.....once saw a cow that had ro have tipped the scales close to 1000#....made the broncoII we were driving in look to small to pack it out of the woods.....
A four point bull i was trying to kill one bow season was killed by a rifle hunter late season 20 miles away....the tractor that they packed it out of the field..fully extended bucket with the elk head chained to the bucket..feet still touched the ground........giant....and the old boy I knew that killed it passed away not too long afterwards......felt honorable not taking that bull...and ol' Bill got him......

Maybe it is crossbred with a rabbit....
Not only do they bounce thru the woods like a rabbit(but scurry like a rat)....maybe the genes for changing color phase has been passed on as well......i am sure these were wishing for snow.....

Same disease Michael Jackson was diagnosed to have......

I thought piebald as well. The biologist that looked at her yesterday ruled out piebald and albino. I asked if possibly a exotic cross they said no on that as well. I honestly have no idea so was looking to see if anyone else has seen this before.
