OK,

Shot some loads yesterday...

RL17, 300 wsm, 208 gr AMAX loaded long, .010 off the lands, 24" barrel.

61, 61.5, 62, 62.5, 63, 63.5, 64, 64.5

61 & 61.5 seem to be a possible node on the targets and 63.5, 64, & 64.5 seem to be a node as well (based on the targets) BUT 64.5 had heavy bolt lift and I have questions about the other two loads on another thread as well. Velocities below are respective to each charge.

Average: (fps): 2,847 - 2,883 - 2,898 - 2,930 - 2,947 - 2,978 - 2,998 - 3,016
Extreme Spread (fps): 7.00 - 13.00 - 12.00 - 19.00 - 20.00 - 13.00 - 27.00 - 21.00

The first two groups centers were 1.4 & 1.3 below "center line" I drew on target, then group three's center line moves to .80 below center line. Group 4 (62.5 gr) goes back to 1.4 below center line.

Do I load up 61 & 61.5 again and include 59.5 and 59 to verify this is a node? Or would you just pick one of the two and work on seating depth?

IMO you are hitting a node at 61 gr with 2847 FPS. I looked at your pressure signs in the other post also.

I hit a good node on my 300 WSM at 59.9 gr RL17, 2850 FPS, 210 VLD with a 26" barrel. I think a lot of folks find a node around 2850 with the 300 WSM, RL17, and 200 gr bullets. There is also that higher node... but you are seeing pressure as I did. I've seen a couple post where guys were running it up to 64-65 gr and saying they new there were at the VERY top but were accurate there with RL17. Then they would add the disclaimer "but you rifle could be very different".

As far as temp sensitivity goes I have found that 1.5 FPS per degree of temperature works well when entering you data into a ballistic app for RL17. Other have found this as well.

OK, thanks for that info. Confirms what I was seeing at my upper limit. I may just load up 60.5gr & 60gr to confirm that 61 is the node before I start playing with seating depth.

My 300 WSM works at 2850fps with 208 A-Max.

You might fine tune with .1 increments but from what I see you are very close.
