Went out yesterday morning with a friend of mine. We hid between some round bales and set up his caller. Tried to get some rangefinder readings but the blowing snow made it difficult. After a couple minutes of calling two yotes came in but started heading away. They were close to a tree I had ranged at 300 yards so I put the second crosshair of my ballistic reticle on one when he stopped broadside. Nice and steady over the round bale, so I touched it off and missed. Note to self: when using a ballistic reticle, make sure the scope is set on the proper power! We later walked over to confirm the miss and lasered back to our setup at 330 yards. Probably would have been a kill. Won't make that mistake next time!
