These little deer have always interested me, so I booked a ticket to Czech Republic to hunt them and Mouflon.
It was the middle of the rut and we got to see some classic whitetail like rutting activity including one of the most violent fights I have seen between two deer!
I missed a shot at a really heavy buck at an unknown distance. Which is probably why I missed. That, and they aren't very big.
In the end, after 3 days with nothing, I shot two within 30 minutes of each other on the final morning.
The smaller one is a nice representative of the specie. The larger one is a really good deer for most of Europe. Both were taken at relatively close distances. 80 and 20 yards.
