Sorry posted this in the wrong forum, can i get some help moving it mods?
So I have a browning X-bolt 300 WSM SS/synthetic that I like a lot with the exception of how flexible the stock is. It appears nobody makes an aftermarket stock for these things but I have a hard time ditching it because I'm a big fan of the 60 degree bolt throw, the factory plastic DBM, and it shoots well.
I'm curious on possibilities of getting a manners or mickey stock in flat top or basic inlet and having it custom inletted by a smith. I'm not familiar how they are typically filled or how the sizing/structural concerns would work out. Seems like MPI is an $$ option with some really poor reviews as well.
I see that stockys now has a laminated x-bolt stock which might be an option and Browning has their eclipse models with laminate stocks that are probably stiffer as well. I'm most curious about making a custom composite.
