Savage Model 116
LA Savage 6.5x284 Norma

Was originally purchased from Cabela's as a Cabela's Savage special edition. SS fluted barrel and action with an AccuTrigger and AccuStock.

I'm including both the original barrel (about 300 rounds) and original stock. Both in good condition,

The action and trigger were sent to Sharp Shooter Supply (www.sharpshootersupply.com)for truing and timing. The trigger breaks cleanly at just over 1lb.

The recoil lug is from Northland Shooter Supply (www.northlandshooterssupply.com)

The barrel was spun by Greg Young of Southern Precision Rifles(www.bugholes.com) and threaded for a brake. It is a 1-8 twist Bartein (26") RV contour. We tested it with 140g Berger Elite Hunter behind RL26 in Lapua brass.

The barreled action sits in an LA MPA (Master Piece Arms) chassis (Tan) (www.masterpiecearms.com)

The 20MOA rail is from Farrell Industries (www.kenfarrell.com).

With the Bugnut system you can easily swap out quality barrels quickly and accurately.
$1800.

The barrel has 84 rounds down it.
So it hasn't speeded up yet.
I shot two ladders with it.
Loaded RL26 and 140g Berger Elite Hunter with .020" jump.
First ladder was from 50.5g to 53.5g in .5g increments.
There was a 15fps spread from 52.5 to 53.5 (2912fps - 2927fps)

The second ladder was from 52.0g to 55.2g (.4g increments) with 140g Berger Elite Hunter with .020" jump:
We shot it at 600yd to confirm both MV and POI.
A higher node was revealed at 54.4g to 55.2g (3000fps to 3022fps)

My experience tells me that the barrel is going to speed up at 125 to 200 rounds by 100fps.
So I'm guessing the 53g will be the sweet spot at about 2990 to 3010fps.

Here are the details of the Bartlein barrel.

1. Original barrel/stock is included.
2. It is RV contour. I will attach the inv. from Southern Precision Rifles.
3. Muzzled is threaded. There is no brake.
4. It is blind mag/hinged floor plate in the AccuStock.
5. In the MPA chassis it is detachable mags. (I meant to include in the post, that I have 3-5rnd mags included in the deal... I forgot to put that in.
