Looking to sell a McWhorter 6.5 WBY Mag with NF NXS 5.5-22x50. Bought rifle in September 2014 and has been on one mule deer hunt. I've put less than 20 rounds through the barrel. Shot a .2 MOA group at load development by Allen Rovig with a Berger 140gr VLD-H at 3250 fps.

Build details:

Stiller Action

McMillan Rifleman stock

Hart #5 Fluted 26" barrel + muzzle brake and mini pic rail

PTG bottom metal

Sniper gray cerakote

Jewell trigger at 1.5#

Asking $5000 w/ scope (no trades) which includes 60 rounds of ammo loaded by McWhorter (+ extra brass) and shipping in hard case.

Money order and will ship to your FFL (US only).

PM me if interested.

Oh alright. I'LL have to look for dies

I have this identical rifle with a #4 barrel. One of the best rifles I've ever owned - I shoot 140 partitions in mine for elk and muleys and they hold together great at 3350 fps. You can get 3400 fps with the 140 Bergers but they frag bad on impact at that speed - Redding makes dies, Paul and they weren't hard to find. I neck up .257 Wby brass but you can neck down .270 wby brass also.

Are you sure that it is the same cartridge. I was thinking along the line of the new case based off of the 300/340 WBY case. I think it is actually a factory chambering now.

Could be wrong, though.

Yes, I'm positive. I've had mine for 5 years now - that .300 wby/6.5 wildcat hasn't been made by McWhorter to my knowledge.
