Just wondering if anyone else had heard or done this. I just heard about it yesterday and wanted to solicit your comments. Does it actually work. Seem pretty inexpensive for the claims.

Diversified Cryogenics

Cryo treatment is claimed to reduce residule stresses that are left in the barrel after finish machining. This is more likely to be found on a factory barrel where costs and production rates are sometimes at odds with quality goals. If you notice that your point of impact moves as the barrel warms up, this may help. Some custom barrel makers offer to do it, some don't. Check out what Dan Lilja has to say at his web sight.

kreiger do it before machining, saying it helps machinability.... they also offer it afterwards as an extra... big thread on this at brcentral
