Converting Camera lens into spotting scope?

Any body kown what would be involved in convirting a camera lena into a spotting scope? I have an old TV lens that weighs about 35# and thought it might be interesting to convirt it into a spotter. I would have to caluculate some how what magnification it would end up as. I think all I need would be a calculated length tube, not shure If I would need a lens on the end.

Most still cameras use a 50mm lens as normal eyesight, a 100mm lens would be 2x magnification, 200mm 4x etc...That might help.

I have a 600 mm telephoto 1:8 that I used years ago on a SLR camera. Where can I buy the eye piece to convert it to a spotting scope??????
