Help please...


Any pro's or con's you can help me to consider on this scope? Will most likely be mounted on a Tikka T3 Lite in 7mm-08 for shooting deer out to 300 and paper and groundhogs out to 1,000 yards.

This will be my first venture into using target type turrents. I have a Burris C4 with the custom turrent I just figure out the yardage and put the turrent on that many yards. I also have a VX-6 that operates the same way. I send my ballistic profile and they send back the turret. I am thinking I will be able to be more accurate with the type of turret on this scope.

I don't understand the debate about first and second focal plane scopes either. Can someone help me understand which would be better for me.

Also would consider a Bushnell or Leupold scope if there is nothing affordable in the Zeiss line for my needs. Never used a Zeiss...just kinda thought it would be cool to try one out.

It is a fantastic scope, great glass, excellent turrets that lock, nice crosshairs.I would get one every time over a leupold

If it says Zeiss on it, you won't be disappointed. I have 2 Conquests, and they are phenomenal scopes. You really get ALOT of scope for the money.

I just bought my 5th one a few weeks back. Gonna put it on a 7mm-08 for doing..??? I got the 6.5-20 model

Sully, you will love the 6.5-20x50 with Target Turrets.....I love mine on my 7mm STW.

Is this the reticle to get? Looks to me like you only get the option of the rapid Z recticles or the 20 Z-Plex non-illuminated.

Guess if you are using the target turrets you need the 20 Z Plex. It just seems way to much thickness and clutter blocking image for long range shooting. I think the 60 varia recticle would be much better?

Seems like they only offer second focal plane on this model.

For what you are looking to do I would stick with the #20. Take a look at the amount of adjustment the scope has and compair it to what you need to get you to the yardage you want to get out to. You might need a 20moa base. The only time I look for a FFP scope is if I am using a subtended reticle, just my personal preference but I like to keep a 1 to 1 ratio of my reticle through out the power range on a scope that i use for dynamic shooting.
