I've got a 3x9 Leupold Compact on a lightweight walking varmint rifle. I would like to replace the scope with one that has higher magnification but do not want the size & weight of a standard scope.

Are 4x12 or similar variable scopes available in light or compact versions?

Have you looked at the Leupold Mark 2 scopes?? they have a 4-12x40mm that only weighs 14.5oz, adj obj, 12.4" long

they make them in a standard fine duplex or mil dot. i have played with some of the ones we have in stock and they are a very nice scope.

have a good un

The burris compact scopes (compact, shortmag, timberline) are decent but start to get alot of paralax as you go higer magnification. I looked at a 3-9x32 and a 4-12, ended up buying the 3-9 because it was easier to look through...

Another for the Leupold MK2 4-12x40mm are very nice scopes for the size and the money.
