Coating for new reahmed chambered

I had a new Douglas air guage barrel chambered in 257Ai.
I had my smithy rechamber the barrel for 257 Weatherby.
QUESTION. the barrel is a chrome Molly barrel. with the
ream job the chamber is bare metal. is there a coating
I can apply to the bare metal or keeping the surface
lubricated will stop the rust???

You will have to clean it before you shoot it but I use this stuff on Chromoly barrel blanks.
