Chronograph

The benefits of owning a chronograph cannot be overstated!!! It makes load development much more consistent and safe. I'm not sure of the reason, but I think Oehler has suspended making their personal chrono systems. this is from their webpage "Oehler has reluctantly suspended production of handloader equipment, including the Model 35. Our current inventory of handloader systems is depleted. Production of industrial equipment and technical support for all Oehler equipment continues. You can still get warranty service and parts."

The Pact chrono may be the next best option. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

You can reload without one, but....

Most bullet/twist combinations will have certain velocities that are more accurate than others. A chrono will help determine of you are on a accuracy Node.
It can also be used to troubleshoot loading inconsistancys and to ballpark your ups for long distance shooting.

Any chrono can be usefull but Ohler and CED are the most accurate according to independent testing.
