Anyone have any hands on experience with the C A FFT? Been reading up on them and they caught my interest. Thinking about getting one in 6.5 or 308, but nobody local has one that I can get my hands on so I'd have to but it off the net. How stiff are the stocks, do they have a palm swell, how wide is the forearm? I have a few Bell & Carlson sporter stocks and like the feel of them, they seem to fit me the best, are their carbon fiber stocks close. I'm also wondering about the fluted bolt, is it smooth? I only have one rifle with a fluted bolt and it's not smooth at all…….sorry for all the questions but @ $1500 I don't want to get one and be disappointed.
Thanks

Howdy, I have a couple Mesa model 14. 6.5. Creedmore and just picked up a 7. 08 .Sportsman's warehouse has some on sale right now 950.00 . The only issue I have is the chamber's are tight. Creed will not chamber Nosler ammo, need to turn the neck. I reload so I chose not to send it to the manufacturer. All other brass is fine, I use lapua and Peterson brass only for this gun. The 7. 08 I have tried hornady superperformance factory ammo, chamber's and shots fine. Loaded lapua brass with 140gr over cfe 223 , 50 rounds all shot very well, no issues to help brake in the barrel. The stocks are stiff enough for me, the forearms are okay on the medium to small size. The gun is balanced pretty well. And they both shoot very well. Hope this helps

My dad recently picked up a southpaw Ridgeline FFT in 7rm. I would say the stock is very similar to a B&C. It doesn't have the big palm swell that manners stocks have and feels quite slim to me. I really like the feel of it and didn't notice any flex. The bolt on his is very smooth. It does feel tight when locking down, however I don't think that's an issue and believe one would get used to it quickly. I shot 6 rounds of factory Federal loads (not sure the specifics of the load) and they stacked at an inch. This was during his break-in process so I would expect better accuracy once done. The trigger was nice and crisp, we measured at 3lbs. I've not had any experience with CA before this but I wouldn't hesitate picking one up if looking for a lightweight mtn rifle.
