A few months ago I posted about a Christensen Arms Mesa in 6.5 Creedmoor that would not shoot better than 1.5" @ 100 yards. Took the rifle apart and the stock recess lug cut out was not deep enough for recoil lug so as the action lugs were tightened it misaligned the action. Deepened it then bedded the entire action + first 1.5 of barrel. After it shot .34". Grandson and son-in-law got to test it out on Arizona Coues at 350 yds. Very nice shooting lightweight rifle. We had tested it before the hunt out to 900 yds so the 350 yards was a chip shot for these two.

MRP has a nice chassis that should be stiffer than the carbon stocked Mesa and has a built in rail on the action. For the extra $1000, I would think the barrel would tend to shoot tighter groups. They both have a claim of sub moa. I can be almost certain you won't be thrilled with Christiansen's bedding on the Mesa. But with proper scope mounting and a quality bedding job, the Mesa is a fine rifle. I just don't like the pistol grip on the MRP. If I am going that route I personally will stick with the AR10 platform.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll probably go with the Mesa LR and put the extra $1000 I'd be saving towards some good glass.
