270 Winchester and 338 RUM. Since I have a little bit of an ethical issue with shooting big game at ranges that require bullets to be in flight for more than a second and I have never been in a hunting situation where I needed to take a shot beyond 450 yards, although a sheep hunt could be in the future, my go to rifle of choice is a Sako A7 Stainless 270 Winchester with Leupold ringes, sporting a 3-9 Leupold Vx-r with a ballistic fire dot mil reticle with mil turrets. I run 150 and 165 ABLRs zeroed at 250, point blank hold to 300. The 270 win is my go to for all things inside a 1000 yards but on big game I would limit it to 750. Rifle weighs 7lbs 14 oz. total. My true go long gun is a 338 Rum, custom REM 700 with a 27” Brux barrel. It is my everything beyond a 1000 yards gun. To be honest, I could do it all with this one gun. 30 moa base, MTD rings, Athlon Ares ETR, Mil reticle, APA FB Gen 3 break, custom wrap, HS Percision stock, wyatts box, Timney elite trigger and A Harris SBR bipod. Running 265 ABLRs at 2850. Pics are of the #1 338 and 270 bracketed by a 30-378 and 6.5 Creedmoor. Bullets from left to right are 210, 265, 165, 142 ABLRs. #2 338 RUM, #3 A7 300 WM with Athlon Ares ETR #4 270 Win
