Carbon Fiber wrapped barrels

Has anyone tried (or does anyone even make) a carbon fiber wrapped barrel for the cheytac based cartridges? Do they hold up ok and is the recoil manageable?

No reason they wouldn't hold up just fine. Problem is finding someone capable of wrapping a barrel the length needed for Cheytac based cartridges...

He can't do super long barrels. I've asked him, along with everyone else that wraps barrels. 30" is pretty much the longest anyone can wrap...which in my opinion is about 4" too short for something with Cheytac capacity...

Bummer... recently? I saw he got a new wrapping machine, didn't know if the restriction was cutting or wrapping

It's shank diameter. He won't turn a 1.350. I talked to him before I built mine.

A couple weeks ago.

I'm just going to flute mine instead...unless I get risky and go ahead and wrap it our self.

Nice weapon, how is the recoil on it with that light barrel? Is that a 375 Cheytac?
What does it weigh?
