carbide reloading dies

Read something , can't remember where. But it said to use carbide reloading dies over steel to eliminate the use of lubes.

Well I only see carbide dies for hand guns only. Is that Tue.
 
Yes. They are only for straight walled pistol and rifle cases to run without lube. The carbide bottleneck case dies I know of still require lube.
 
I've seen a couple of carbide rifle dies before but they are very expensive and you still need lube due to the case taper. If you are loading pistol, by all means get a carbide sizing die (Almost all are carbide these days) but you'll be hard pressed to find one for rifle loading.
 
if you want no lube reloading for bottleneck cases you need a collet style die (Lee makes them and I use them) or specialty neck only dies from other (Redding, and RCBS make excellent neck dies)
