Have about 200 new 308 Norma Mag brass cases. I no longer have a 308 Norma Mag rifle.
Question is: Can I fire form 308 Norma Mag brass in a 300 Win Mag chamber safely?

If this case headspaces on the Magnum belt, wouldn't this be just like fire forming a standard shoulder case to a say, Ackley Improved shoulder angle? The shoulder just forms to the longer chamber?

As already mentioned, the Norma Mag case is too short.

Absolutely shouldn't do it.

Even if it fired, case is too short to be turned (fireformed) into a 300 WM.

putting a secondary shoulder on the brass may be enough to blow it out, but you are over a tenth inch short.
With 300win being rather easy to get and the rather high probability of case rupture, I wouldn't bother and sell your 308 norma brass to fund buying 300win brass.
I wouldn't do it and I fireform a lot of stuff...

Not to say I would do it, but I doubt the case would rupture. Some have shot 308 Winchester in a 30/06 chamber without a problem and ended up with a straight walled case.

Once again, I'm not saying I would do it.

It is safe to do because it headspaces on the belt but you'd get massive case stretch ahead of the belt without forming a false shoulder which would lead to premature case sparation. Selling it and buying 300wm is the wisest choice.
