Hey guys, just started calling for coyotes. Would y'all suggest short cottontail distress call, with short intervals between, or stay on it for a longer period with longer intervals. Don't know what in the heck I'm doing

I have tried running the call constantly as well as in intervals. I've had success both ways and I haven't decided which works best, although I think there isn't necessarily a wrong answer here.

I say play to the situation. If I think the dogs are close I'll do a few short intervals at low volume. If it's windy or if I think the dogs are likely further out I'll go higher volume and longer intervals or even just constant on. I use a variety of distress sounds and coyote vocalizations, really just whatever I'm feelin at the time. What works one day doesn't mean it works every day. Just my $.02 YMMV
