Custom Rem 700 .30-338 built by Randy Melvin of Bull Mountain Rifles. I acquired this in a large collection from an older guy that commissioned the rifle. I visited with Randy and he indicated the barrel would be either a Krieger, Lilja, or Bartlein. The tube is 25" and in good shape with strong rifling. I would guess it around a #3 Bartlein or hair larger. Radial brake that makes this a pleasure to shoot. Bedded McMillan stock and fully blueprinted action. The trigger is well tuned and crisp. I fireformed 100 cases using a variety of bullets and powders. Shot everything around MOA or better. With proper load development I am sure it can do even better. Lots of first round hits from 500-700 yards while I was fireforming and getting to know the rifle. Included is 100 pieces of brass formed in this chamber and RCBS dies.
The scope is a Leupold Mark 4 with a turret cut for the 175 VLD.
The previous owner was not a high volume shooter. Probably has less than 250 rounds through it but to be conservative I would say less than 500.
