Gorgeous Nevada Bull Elk was dropped with a 6.5-284 at a 170 yards using the 137gr Hammer Hunter. Congratulations Adam on a successful hunt. He was surprised on the simplicity of load development and was able to recover the base of the bullet.

Curious on the shot angle/placement since you were able to recover the bullet.

From the email Adam sent he was shooting downward. He didn't mention broadside or quartering angle. But being in the mountains is hardly ever to never perfect broadside shot unless archery hunting at close range.
