So I had bought a new Howa 308 for some long range coyote, but after spending the last few days doing math and hearing some 308 criticism I am not sure. I have a guy that would trade me a barely used A bolt medallion in 243 that might be better for long range coyote? I have never shot a 243 but the numbers look good, the question is does an 80 gr bullet have enough umph at say 600-800 yards? Is this a godd rifle? And should I trade or keep the 308? I know the 243 is flatter but ammo isnt as easily available. Any suggestions on that rifle? Thanks for the help.
