He was an old timer. The back teeth were pretty well worn. I doubt if he would have lasted much longer. You probably did him a favour taking him out.

Well..doesn't look like a gunshot gone wrong.....maybe trying to open a metal garbage can with his jaw...least that's what 'Mom would always say'...."gonna break your teeth and I'm not gonna pay to fix them"

Maybe he ran into a bigger meaner bear. Bear fights can be pretty brutal.

My money's on having been struck by a vehicle. Not that it matters, his troubles are over.

I've seen headshots gone wrong and I don't think this is that. I also see the point about bear fight brutality…but as brutal as they are they don't usually last a super long time as it becomes clear who the dominant beast is and the loser submits. Lots of flesh wounds but I find myself thinking the loser would submit and run away long before getting its actual skull busted.

This looks consistent with having been smacked in the side of the face HARD.

Ahhhh that makes much more sense!

On a side note my wife's front tooth has a chip out of it from back in the day being a dumb teenager opening beer bottles that way haha

I've a small chip with very small crack in front tooth....biting through fishing line.....
