Anyone been to BC in the east kootenays after elk. Looking at MU 4-1, 4-2. Flathead river and wigwam river areas.

Great region, population is down from about 10 years ago to the 8000ish mark from 30000 due to poor management. Its all 6point or better hunting.

Okay. Looks like high 200 to low 300" bulls in east kootneys. And a little bigger in the West kootenays, I see some big ones by arrow lakes, whatshan lake. unit 4-32 0r 4-33 i think

I was looking up in the peace river area (7) too, outfitters try to say they have the biggest bulls on the mainland but I find that hard to believe they are.

Ill pm you some outfitters maybe you will know them

Packhorse Creek Outfitters in the upper flathead has a good reputation and my neighbour. Elk hunting here requires at least 6 point bull to be legal.The rifle seasons starts Sept 10 each year.Elk numbers are down though. You won't see to many residents in the spike camps,imo

Hey Antonio, thanks for the info. I have booked With Dom Ferrareli. Will be out there for the opener of rifle in 2018 for 10 days.
