Bipod changing point of impact

Hello, I sighted my rifle in off of Caldwell shooting bags. I then shot using a Spartan Javelin bipod and noticed a difference in the point of impact. Is it typical for that to happen? Perhaps it was just user error, I didn’t have much time to test it out and need to get back out to the range.
Thanks

I shoot off a bipod never use a bag so I’m just generally speaking here two different types of support would give two different results stick with whatever one you want or feel comfortable with and practice practice practice rezero your scope if necessary

If your using the bipod to hunt then I would suggest to sight in with that, bags can induce vertical if they dont ride true.
Any concern with sighting in on a bipod but then shooting off hand and having enough of a difference in the point of impact to make a difference?

It depends on the gun and the shooter. I remember my first 300WM would move quite a bit (4moa vertical).

I have since learned that a lot of the vertical can be addressed with form and hold, but that takes some time, some ammo and a lot of practice.

Here is a pretty good article that might yield some further insight;

It's probably you and the way you hold the rifle with the 2 different methods. Bags shouldn't affect the poi unless you're really bearing down on the front bag.

I would be surprised if.....you “did not” see a poi shift. If you’re using the “lead sled”, I would expect to see a poi shift......no matter what method you change to! I try to simulate, as best I can, to the type of rifle support I will use in the field! From the bench, I place the bags where my support hand will be, and attempt to position the shooting hand and grip force to replicate field use! Obviously, it’s not identical, but an attempt to be as similar as possible ! memtb
