Hi all, my career in reloading has been quite short, i have a Remmy Sendero in .300WinMag, some of you helped my with the reload i have produced thus far. I am using 190gr Berger VLD's, 75gn's of AR2217 (H-1000) and seating them .020" off the lands which give me an AOL of 2.895, Average M.V. is 2714fps, and i'm getting .247MOA, i am gonna try 79.5gn and 80.5gn on my next outing, but after already trying 79gn i'm not sure if it will work ??? Should i try a different powder ?

Cheers boys....keep up the good work. gun)

.25MOA,
I tried the 190gn SMK with H1000/CCI 250, OAL 2.9090" (.010" off).

79.0gn 3078fps .142"
79.5gn 3112fps .522"
80.0gn 3148fps .496"
80.5gn (no vel.) .419" was getting too dark for chrono

I tried 80.5gn again four days later and velocity averaged 3145fps and accuracy was .5245 for a five shot group.

When I bounced this last group's velocity off the week's before something didn't seem right. Not sure if my chrono was reading fast (not fully opened) that first day or what. I haven't been able to verify because I'm currently out of 190gn SMK's. Either way, I would think your velocity would be higher than what you 're getting. Kinda mysterious. JohnnyK.

I tried 79gn AR2217 (H-1000) and got avg. 2909fps.....2 shots touching, the others of the group wide and high about 1.5" ?? But i think i had reserved myself to the fact that 75gn was my load after the earlier shots, i will try 79.5 and 80.5gn next.....if accuracy suffers what is another powder to try ?

Why bother?

Run a ballistics table for the load you have and ask yourself what you stand to gain from more MV based on your hunting and shooting requirements.

It sounds like you have a good load there.

Man, I have to agree. I would be perfectly happy right there. Sounds like you are really stacking them in there.
